Cranfield Surgery – New Premises Update
We would like to provide our patients with an update on the progress of our new Cranfield Surgery premises.
We are pleased to report that good progress continues to be made.
Lease and legal process
The lease for the new premises is currently progressing through the legal process. The Practice Partners have completed a detailed review of the lease and have provided their comments to our solicitors.
Further discussions are required between the respective legal representatives. There has been a delay while the Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) solicitor has been away for most of August, but we understand that the legal process will continue following their return.
Preparing the new surgery
While the legal work continues, we are progressing as much of the practical preparation as possible. We have started identifying equipment and furniture that can safely be ordered in advance, considering supplier lead times and storage requirements.
Once we have formal access to the building, there will be a further programme of work to install and test the surgery’s IT infrastructure, internet connectivity, telephone systems, furniture and clinical equipment. These systems must be fully operational and tested before we can safely begin providing patient services from the new premises.
What happens next?
At this stage, we are not able to confirm an opening date. The next steps remain dependent on completion of the legal process and the subsequent preparation and setup of the premises.
We appreciate that our patients have been waiting for the new surgery for some time, and we understand the importance of keeping everyone informed.
As soon as we reach a significant confirmed milestone — particularly completion of the lease — we will provide a further update to patients, including information about the next stages of the project.
Thank you for your continued patience and support while we work towards opening the new Cranfield Surgery.
