Parish Council response to Central Bedfordshire Council’s Draft Local Transport Plan

Marston Moreteyne is growing, and our transport infrastructure needs to keep pace.

Marston Moreteyne Parish Council has responded to Central Bedfordshire Council’s Draft Local Transport Plan 2027–2040, supporting its ambition for safer roads, better public transport and more opportunities for walking and cycling.

Our response highlights concerns about bus services, footpaths, new development, road capacity and the cumulative impact of major schemes, including Universal, O&H Marston Vale, M1 Junction 13 and the potential closure of Millbrook railway crossing.

Our key message is simple: residents can only make sustainable travel choices when those choices are safe, reliable, accessible and practical. We are asking Central Bedfordshire Council to make sure that transport infrastructure and services are delivered alongside development and properly reflect the needs of existing communities.
