Marston Vale Forest School

Forest School is a programme of activities that takes place on a regular basis and provides learning opportunities in an outdoor environment.

Children will enjoy the freedom to explore and experience the natural world in all seasons and in all weathers.

The outdoor environment inspires children to grow in self-esteem, confidence, independence and social skills through small achievable tasks.

They will learn how to risk assess and set boundaries to which they must work within.

As the children grow in confidence they will undertake new experiences and take appropriate risks in a nurturing environment whilst remaining safe and in control.

They will learn about the natural world around them and gain an appreciation for nature which will encourage them to be responsible for the environment in later life.

Ampthill and District Angling Club

Ampthill angling was formed in 1950 by a group of local lads from the town. It is our local Angling Club in Bedfordshire with some outstanding waters. Ampthill Reservoir was their very first water that the club rented from the town council. We now have six waters that we rent, these are Westminster Pool, Marston Pit, Brogborough Pit, Brogborough Lagoon, Millbrook Lake

We are constantly working to increase the range of fishing and options available, ultimately for our member’s pleasure. The club is a member of the angling trust.

The Club also has a night fishing section that is run by Bob Jones which is at Brogborough Pit.

Stewartby Water Sports Club

Home to Bedfordshire’s largest lake and most diverse water sports community.

SWSC is a not for profit community amateur sports club, run by volunteers on behalf of its members.

Nestled in the heart of the Marston Vale, we’re a friendly, volunteer-run community where people of all ages enjoy getting out on the water. Whether you’re learning, competing, or simply looking to be part of a vibrant, welcoming club, you’ll find your place here. Whether that be Angling, Power Boating, Sailing or Wakesports.

Stewartby Lake spans around 200 acres of open water. The lake is shared between all sections of the club, with sailing and water skiing using opposite sides, powerboating operating when no other sessions are running, and anglers fishing from swims around the edges or from small boats.
